We currently have 2 large Severums about 8-9 " and 5 years old, 3 geophagus jurapari that are about 4", a small bolivian ram and 5 small rainbow cichlids which are about 2-3" a piece. They are a lot of money need to be kept in groups and need a 60 gal bigger is better. 38 gal is too small for a severum you might get away with a 55 gal for one for awhile. A full grown severum will need a 70 gal they are big fish.

WebDec 7, 2008 · Severums are fiarly common so I would suggesting getting a pure strain instead of a mixed strain. Also fully grown sevs will be fairly cramped in a 55 gallon.
