Have this unknown piece on my piano. I assume it's a prop to open the lid up a bit, but it's only on one side and I'd be worried about the uneven stress on the hinge overtime. It's a plastic bar with a felt pad on the end, rotates freely. If anyone knows exactly what it's for I'd love to know!
